I am not sure about you guys and myspace but I myself like having it available.. It creates a place for me to put myself online for people to contact me and visit with me and catch up with whats going on in my life even if I am not online at the moment via reading my blogs viewing my pictures and such.. However I am starting to become more and more disgusted with how many people use the site to bash Christianity.. I see few if any sites or organizations on myspace that openly abuse atheists and homosexuals of any sort.. While MANY PERSONAL sites may do these things, there is no "corporate" site that I know of.. and in turn there are at least 5 BIG sites on myspace that their prime objective is to smash Christianity.. AND THERE IS NO REFUSAL! I have been perusing some sites today just reading up on what they claim to be truth and they have some interesting things.. They are using OUR scriptures and OUR quotes, but in a very perverted way that a normal person would never know the difference. I feel that there are many who are being led astray because no one will stand up to the Christian bashing bullies on myspace.. I have messaged 2 or 3 of the 5 different sites I saw today asking questions about how they define their "moral codes" and where they came from. or where does science say the first material that started mutating into todays creatures come from and heck I went as far as to ask them about things such as irreducible complexities such as the human eye. I am eager to see if I get a response from any of them.. I ask that you guys and gals take up arms to refute them as well.. Maybe not via myspace directly but through prayer and the sharing of your vast knowledge with not only believers here, but non believers among other websites... I thank you for reading what is mostly a rant of mine for the last minute or so and pray that somehow we will make a difference.

Two things:
First, I played around with Myspace for awhile too, and I think it stinks! Without exception, everyone I know on Myspace has had their account "phished" at least once. Bulletins and IMs promoting porn sites and money scams were sent out in the name of some Christian friends of mine who would never do such a thing - and by the time it's caught, damage control is a time-consuming chore. And very few people actually blog on Myspace. It's a cyber bulletin board that people hang pictures of themselves on and say, "Look at me! Notice me! Friend me! Approve me! Validate me! Tell me I'm beautiful!"
Pfft. Narcissists. Not all of them, of course... but that's what Myspace means to me. I'm about writing, so I blog elsewhere, and my account has never been phished.
Second - sites that bash Christianity will not listen to reason. They're not truth seekers. They seek only to attack what they hate. They do not want to hear any other point of view. If it was truth they were truly seeking, they wouldn't bash any point of view.
Don't waste time arguing. Only God can break through that bitterness and reach the soul. Prayer is the most effective thing you can do for them.
I know what you're gonna say next: But what about all the non-haters who read their pages? Shouldn't someone speak up for their benefit?
Same answer. True seekers know they can't listen to bashers. They need positive affirmations, not negative attacks. Bashers have no credibility. Just be there, positively proclaiming the gospel.

I am actually very interested in joining their sites and debating.. while I agree that they will not listen to any reasonable response that I or we may give, I am still interested to see what they have to say.. Maybe I am really sheltered but I have never met (in person OR online) anyone who believes as they do.. I have read much about evolution and such but never really been able to ask questions about it.. and so I intend to ask questions that are not so "surface" level.. I intend to be persistent and knowledgeable.. so that they will not have an "easy win" against me.. I tend to hear that most evolutionists will take a few big words/ideas throw them out and when one cannot answer them, they feel victorious and want to do it again..
The nice thing about it being via discussion forums is that I will have time between posts to seek answers/info to better help me. there are 2 people from the forums that have e-mailed me personally and seem quite interested in the debate as well because (I say this as most unfortunate) that I am one of a very small % of people who want to debate, that did not begin by bashing on them.. I guess most of the theists that join their site like to have bashfests.. thats not what I want to do.. I do not wish to "argue" even in its most standard form.. I really do wish to just ask questions and probe into their uncomfortable areas of their beliefs... I do not think that I will change anything with anyone there, however I can only do what I feel needs to be done and pray that God may use someone such as myself who is not a biblical scholar nor a science professor to change even just 1 heart.

Clint,
The Apologetics Forum might be a place you are interested in, then. I was there for awhile, but would rather 'debate' or discuss theology with believers. It is sort of a dog-eat-dog kind of place - and you're right, they don't listen. My favorite seeker there is Hamlet, if you do go. Don't tell him I sent you, though. javascript:void(0) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
