Dunno what to think after just a cursory browsing around, e.g., if their models are biblically accurate, etc. But what I didn't like was when clicking on one of the objects in their model to get a more detailed view as instructed, a warning came up in IE7 in regard to some ActiveX component needed to be installed if I wanted to view the image. I've never seen that particular ActiveX before and thus I opted out and didn't allow it to be installed on my 'puter.

No need to delete it! My system obviously has a tighter security than yours. I made mention of this so that others would be aware that they would be prompted to install an ActiveX component on their PC if they wanted to view certain things on that website OR if they weren't prompted, then one would be probably installed without their knowledge. And, I added that I was not personally familiar with that ActiveX component and thus I chose not to allow it to be installed. Others can choose for themselves what to do.

Hey William, While I'm all for Bible Ed materials, and I hope this one helps those who can download the plugins (I can't--machine too old/small/slow), I have a few blunt New York thoughts about the, shall we say, hubris of the copy writer: This interactive 3D model renders Solomon's Temple. Well, not reeeeeeally. A 3D model is reeeeeeeeal difficult to put onto a 2D monitor screen. Oh, I know that 3D in graphics land refers to the illusion of space as we know it, but ... it just ain't. And as for interactive, does that mean I could bring a sheep (I could get one from my brother, up in Vermont--he and his son raise them on the side) to the altar, hear it bleat, see it bleed and die, smell it burning, then, maybe, slosh around in the laver, have a bite of showbread, then peek behind the curtain and ... well that would be hard for my wife to explain to the cops from the 5-2 when they come to remove my fried carcass from my desk chair, now, wouldn't it? It is carefully reconstructed even down to the most minutest detail. Oh, a side order of mangled English sets off the hubris nicely, don't you think? Now after 2,500 years since the Temple was destroyed, you can once again experience its glory and beauty. Wow, and to think poor Isaiah probably only had the beta release.
In Christ, Paul S

Paul,
These sorts of things do seem to be popular with dispensationalists who are expecting the temple to be rebuilt.
The portrayal of the tabernacle & temple is interesting nonetheless, and gives one a good feeling of what these things might have looked like. This particular portrayal had the cherubim rendered as sphinx-like creatures which is the first I've ever seen.
Still, for all the grandeur of these Old Testament places of worship, what I was reminded of is how relatively simple it all is, when compared with the far greater materiality of the pagan worship of the day. But these were only the copies of heavenly things; since the ascension of Christ, what seems today to be our plainer worship is actually worship in which we are lifted into the heavenlies to worship God together with the saints of old and with the heavenly hosts. How much more glorious than all the marble, gold, and precious stones!

Okay! As I wrote in reply to William, I am more than a little suspicious of websites which require an ActiveX component to be installed, particularly where the company, object, etc., of that ActiveX is unknown to me personally. It may be totally legitimate and safe but I don't want to be held responsible for giving the impression that all is fine and then have someone's PC infected with malware, virus, trojan, etc. I would feel terrible. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/sad02.gif)
