something to the effect that we shouldn't be discouraged if our loved one never comes to Christ because God couldn't convince him either. WHAT? eek I asked myself "Why do Arminians pray?" Did God really harden Pharoah's heart? Can God deliver us from the power of Satan? I seldom debate Arminians knowing that God can make anyone see the truth of scripture. I don't consider myself overly intelligent and I definitely realize that I have little education, but sometimes the things that people say about God make no sense to me!

I have a long road to hoe, but I hope to spend the remainder of this year diligently studying articles and sermons that will aid me in the cause of Christ.

It doesn't make any sense to me either.

That is a very worthwhile endeavor and that is part of the way I cut my Reformed teeth.
However, in the last year or so I have made a few friends at the Church I attend and two of them embraced Calvinism not via article or books, but by carefully studying the Scriptures as well as the sermons they heard from their pastors. Only a few years later did they find out there was a name for what they believed.
They can explain the doctrines of Grace using both the Old and New Testaments and know where to turn when they are challenged.
This has prompted me to try to know how to do that a lot more efficiently and it is starting to pay off. Especially seeing how the Lord has brought a young man in my life that I am mentoring.

Someone online asked me if I believe I chose Christ or did I believe that God brought me to Christ. That got me out of my Arminian mindset.

God knows what He is doing through us and for us! I'm grateful.

Sorry...I had a senior moment! I have a long row to hoe. I'll let someone else tackle(pave?) the road!
