This afternoon I was watching a program on Spanish television entitled, CASO CERRADO (Case Closed). The program, a reality Law program is hosted by a judge, Dr. Ana Maria Polo. It is similar to English law programs which appear on television. The program is very popular among Spanish viewers.
One of the cases involved a Christian couple who apparently were opposed to Lesbian - Gay movement and had been sued by two gay men for remarks they were alleged to have made. This did not interest me nearly as much as one of the remarks judge Polo made to the two defendants regarding their attitudes when they referred to the Bible's reference to homosexuality. she did not allow them to even explain themselves. She screamed at them and said that they were wrong in their thinking and that after all the Bible was only written by 'mere' men and who were not writing as mystics. The intensity and ferocity of her attack was what startled me.
She apparently, has no concept of the origin and authority of the Scriptures nor of the Holy Spirit directing and guiding these so-called 'mere' men.
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. (Romans 1:25)
It suddenly became clear to me that this issue is one directly instigated by the devil himself. In an instant I could see the result of these diabolical attacks directed at the Word of God, to demean, detract and undermine its authority and validity. It gave me a shock and a moment of fear as I sensed this and how it is being used as the "Key" against Christians, the church and the Bible.. Political correctness and tolerance are one edged swords. We are discovering that there is little or no tolerance now for Christians in our brave new world. It is on the alleged basis of 'equality' that this attack is being justified. But there is no equality or tolerance shown to Christianity. We are only allowed to hear 'one' side.
Unfortunately, groups such as the Westboro Baptist Church are fueling and justifying attacks against Christians and the Church through their hate filled demonstrations at military funerals across the Nation. They are either 'misguided' or they are 'deliberately' doing this to provoke such attacks. There is no humility or Christian love shown by this group.
We must therefore, be as ' wise as serpents and as gentle as doves' and not allow ourselves to be backed into a corner from which it is impossible to escape. We must recognize that as the result of the "FALL" that we all suffer from the results of sin in one form or another. It is as if to say that Sin was programed into our DNA at birth.
Rather than condemn homosexuals in general or particular we must realize that they are no more or less guilty than anyone else living a life-style as a fornicator, adulterer or a pedophile. Until we have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit we have no FREE WILL to avoid Sin. Our only bent is toward SIN. It is only by God's grace that we may not be as bad as we could have been. And the only way out and away from it is through the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
We certainly have no right to feel proud as Christians. It is important to stay within the Gospel- and use the Law as it was intended to be used- to show God's Holiness and our Sinfulness. No One is free of sin, none of us can claim that we are free from Sin. None of us is able to obey every one of the 10 Commandments. Since the time of Adam's Fall no one has - save Jesus Christ.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

I have no idea, of course, why this couple was dragged into court, e.g., whether they fire-bombed a house owned by homosexuals, or denied service to these two gay men, or simply made some perceived derogatory remark(s) about homosexuality. So, I am certainly not going to comment on the hearing/trial. However, although I agree with 99% of what you wrote, I do believe that homosexuality should be openly opposed no less than rape, murder, theft, assault. In this country (USA) and most others, there are laws against such crimes (sins). As Christians, homosexuality comes under the 7th Commandment that covers all sexual sins. It doesn't make a wit of difference if a particular government legalizes a sin, a Christian must stand against it and be willing to suffer any undeserved punishment put upon them for doing so. The principle of conduct for Christians is: To obey all laws which do not violate what God has commanded and to disobey all laws which God has forbidden. Secondly, albeit it is true that anything that is a violation of God's commandments, either by commission or omission, is a sin. But, the Bible does distinguish between sins which can be readily seen in regard to the punishment to be exacted against the various types of sin, e.g., theft, lying, coveting vs. adultery, idolatry and blasphemy. Let me be very clear, that I am NOT advocating what some Reconstructionists hold to, i.e., the civil laws regarding capital punishment for certain sins are applicable today. My point is that homosexuality has far-reaching negative effects upon both those who practice it and society in general. Lastly, again to affirm with you that everyone born into this world is prone to sin to one degree or another and I will add, that all who are not washed in the blood of Christ will suffer eternal punishment for 1) being a sinner at conception, and 2) for all sins committed in their lifetime. But when I read Scripture, it appears to me that homosexuality is something which God has 'allowed' as a special form of earthly judgment against idolatry (cf. Rom 1:18-27). Homosexuality is one way in which God's wrath and the depth of human sin is openly displayed for all to see. Addendum: This type of legal action against Christians and Christianity in general is, I believe, in its infancy. Persecution against Christians who rightly oppose all such debauchery is going to increase and at a rapid pace due to the concerted effort of the 'Gay & Lesbian' contingency whose goal is to infect all of the world with their immorality, which will expand into the acceptance of bestiality, incest and all other forms of unspeakable sexual deviation. Remember well that in the last days this type of persecution will go beyond anything that has ever been witnessed before in the history of mankind. No Christian will escape for: 2 Timothy 3:12 (ASV) "Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
