Just wanted to get feedback on this, a unique/precise perspective on Gospel (vs law)

I wasn't impressed.

Care to expand on that?

I would think there is a danger to think....'you know and believe the gospel,here are the rules.... Now Go! Share the gospel, follow the law!'

For me that's a snare.... I need to bury myself in the word and fellowship with believers ..... I need to grow and keep growing.... And persevere with every setback

I would say this is merely a cliff notes summary however....I'm sure Horton knows there is much more to be said and experienced

I agree, what Horton said was just a brief outline on the subject. He mentioned a few things in his talk that could be expanded on.

The reason why I asked was because I am not sure whether you disagreed with him. Or perhaps you thought he was being too general for your liking.

I obviously love what Jeff writes here... But would we agree then that the gospel should be broken down into specific parts.....

I. Who is God, and how should He be perceived?
II. Who are we and what do we need?

III. Who is Jesus, what has He done, and how may we benefit?

A forth part can be regarding evidences of our being in Christ (sanctification) and our constant need to look without/outside ourselves to the author & finsher of our faith

.....which is basically the way Jeff laid it out.

He didn't make any rules to follow in his explanation of the term gospel, or is that your statement that is said by others concerning the word?

I have used this when I speak with others about the gospel, and I pray that I can give more out when I evangelize, its an excellent biblical source for their understanding of the good news of Jesus Christ.
