I have seen a growing number of professing Christians on Facebook that will make statements and lengthy comments regarding that God still speaks outside of His written revelation even to the point of saying we are keeping God in a box by making the claim that God doesn't continue such revelations today,.. and this is not coming from those of the charismatic community ... regardless of the links which do not read or the scriptural links they are hard to this closed canon,... how do we lovingly reach them?

We all probably know one or more of the people that you speak of. It can be very hard to have a meaningful conversation with them as they are cold to the idea of listening. I would suggest the gift of a book if the person is a reader. O. Palmer Robertson has just what they need, it's entitled, The Final Word, less than 150 pages. It helps one to understand what revelation really means when viewed from a biblical perspective. Revelation is a means to an end. It is the way God makes himself known to sinful man by way of his son, Jesus Christ.
Where do we stand in relation to the end of God's self- revelation to man? The writer of Hebrews answers that question for us. He recalls how in past times God revealed himself and then how now in these last days how He has spoken by the embodiment of all truth in the person of his son. [Heb. 1:1]
The goal of revelation has been realized. Nothing else is needed.
This does not mean that God has stopped revealing himself in nature and providence.[Rom. 1:18-20]This does not mean that God has stopped communicating with man through the scriptures. The Holy Spirit continues to illumine the truths of the bible so that the hearts and minds of men can understand and believe.

Fowler White wrote a nice article on this subject which you can find on The Highway here: Does God Speak Today Apart From the Bible?.

Another article which deals with this subject is, The Speaking Voice

Used to be a teaching Elder in AOG, so would know very well what others think on this issue! Also, hurts that some good teachers such as DA Carson and Wayne Grudem hold out for gifts of the Spirit still on today!
