I am sad to admit that I am not as familiar with preachers of old (in Pink's era and before) as I should be. In light of that would they have ever said things like, "I am so glad I made the choice for Jesus by his amazing grace, and Jesus did his work on the cross for us?"

Just a rough guess since I haven't read every word written by every Puritan writer et al. However, I can say that from all that I have read of these "preachers of old", the answer would be a resounding:
NO!!

If it's our choice, then how can it be Grace?
The many folks who say stuff like this simply do not (yet?) know Grace.
But I still pray that some of them will, after being properly taught and discipled.
