I couldn’t find a forum that was solely for eschatology, but if there is and I overlooked it, please move it.

Some sites have forums that deal strictly with eschatology and I was making sure I didn’t overlook it on here.

Hi All, joined this forum because of this post ... This is something I thoroughly enjoy discussing. I voted Historic Premillennialism although not entirely sure this term completely represents my understanding, but the option seems to most closly describe what I have come to believe...

You’re welcome!!! Just kidding, welcome aboard. I’m a newbie too. LOL, thanks!  I went amil——->historic premill——->postmill. lol, I feel ya. I've been back and forth so many times over the years. What brought me here was thinking about the Millennial Reign and it's relation to the Sabbath. How there is a 7 day sabbath, 7 year sabbath, 7x7 year sabbath and then if 1 day is as a thousand years, you would have a Millennial Sabbath. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. {2Pe 3:8 KJV}So the last thousand years would be the millennial sabbath when Christ will rule on Earth with those who were beheaded... And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. {Rev 20:4 KJV}Once this made sense to me, it also made sense that if the beheaded were going to reign with Christ on Earth for 1,000 years, then they would have to get beheaded first, and that wouldn't be possible if Jesus came before antichrist. So Jesus would have to come after antichrist cuts the heads off all the people who are going to reign on earth for 1000 years with Jesus for the Millennial Sabbath... But then also, there will be some who survive the 7 years: Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, {1Co 15:51 KJV}However, I am still on the fence about whether or not all the people of God will raise from the dead and reign with Christ for 1,000 years or if it will only be the people who were beheaded and the elect. There is this: But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection. {Rev 20:5 KJV}But there is also this: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. {1Co 15:52 KJV}So it seems to me that it is possible that everyone who is a Child of God will either raise from the dead or be translated and reign with Christ for 1,000 years on earth in their spiritual bodies from the new city that comes from heaven and is placed in the valley that forms between the Mt. of Olives after the tribulation, at the last trump, when Christ returns. Then the rest of the dead would continue to sleep for the last thousand years while they wait for their final judgement. Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. {Rev 20:6 KJV}

I think it comes down to when exactly was Revelation was written; was it during the reign of Domitian or was it during the reign of Nero? I have come to accept the early date writing of Revelation, probably 65-66 AD. Plus, the temple was still standing when it was measured, as I think ppl erroneously think there’s a third temple to be erected and animal sacrifices being reinstituted. IMO, the OT prophecies concerning the temple being rebuilt was fulfilled in Ezra and Nehemiah.

Omygoodness... I can think of nothing that would be more offensive to the Lamb of God than to preside over "restored" animal sacrifices in a rebuilt temple as though His own offering was insufficient!
Yet for years I believed that dispensationalist nonsense. I don't think that Reformed churches did enough to counter the popular science fiction "Left Behind" stuff when it was being shoved down everyone's throat back when I was a scared kid running to the altar to make sure I had a ticket for the escape flight out of here before the antichrist comes to slaughter believers who don't renounce their faith.
To this very day Mrs. Robin can't talk about "end times stuff" because it raises all those old terrors in her mind.
I vote Amil.

Well said Robin
I believe lest someone misunderstand Dispi thought on this matter. It must be say, that although I disagree with them strongly. Nevertheless, they do not believe the return to temple sacrifices has any saving value. Rather, they think of it, more as a memorial. Similar to the practice of the Lord’s Table. That is how they explained it to me.

I might be a bit hazy on this, but wasn't back in the 1500s and 1600s both the Amil and Postmil were the same postition. It wasn't until the 1800s with the rise of "Golden Age' thinking separated the two. Within the last several decades Postmil gain proponents with the 'Partial Preterism' movement.
Please correct my misunderstanding.
