I guess you could say it was when Pilate brought Christ before the crowd.

KJ2,

I can't think of a democracy in the Bible. Maybe Sodom and Gomorrah were examples of a democracy out of control. However the Bible does have a lot to say about governments and authority.

The specific purpose and function of government can be learned by a study of three brief passages of Scripture: Romans 13:3-5; I Peter 2:13,14; and I Timothy 2:1-4. In a democracy we are given the right to elect our own rulers in the voting booth. Basically we should vote for the one whose view of civil government comes closest to the Biblical teaching.

Wes

[color:blue]Warning the next quote is from an infidel
Democracy is based on the assumption that a million men are wiser than one man. How's that again? I missed something."
"Autocracy is based on the assumption that one man is wiser than a million men. Let's play that over again, too. Who decides?"
Robert Heinlien

I think biblically speaking any government is established by God for his own purposes, but we live in a Kingdom.

Is a political government even Biblical? Samuel objected rather profusely that man should be led by man and not God.
