Aaron,

Here's one website boasting of his accomplishments. Looks like typical material from the camp of supposed 'healers'.If you look at the bottom of the page, you will note one of his fans, "Kenneth Copeland". Need I say more?
http://www.healingrooms.com/history.htm
Here's one scarry excerp:
Eight years passed after God revealed Jesus the Healer to me. I had been practicing the ministry of healing. During that eight years every answer to prayer, every miraculous touch of God, every response of my own soul to the Spirit had created within me a more intense longing for an intimacy and a consciousness of God, like I felt the disciples of Jesus and the primitive church had possessed... Shortly after my entrance into the ministry of healing, while attending a service where the necessity for the Baptism of the Spirit was presented, as I knelt in prayer and reconsecration to God, an anointing of the Spirit came upon me. Waves of Holy Glory passed through my being, and I was lifted into a new realm of God's presence and power. After this, answers to prayer were frequent and miracles of healing occurred from time to time. I felt myself on the borderland of a great spiritual realm, but was unable to enter in fully, so my nature was not satisfied with the attainment..."

All I have to say is tell your friend to <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/flee.gif" alt="" />

in Christ,
Carlos

Thanks....I figured as much. I spent a brief stint in the Word Of Faith movement myself in my early years <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />. I thought the name sounded familiar....this same friend is also thinking about Bill Gothard; but, thats another thread <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Aaron,

This link is to an article on John G. Lake that raises serious questions about his views and doctrine:

http://www.crmspokane.org/lake.htm

I don't know about the rest of the site that hosts the article, as I'm not really familiar with the ministry. But the article cited seems to be well-researched. If you have some background in the Word Of Faith movement, you probably can discern how accurate is the article.

May God bless--

I spent about two years in the Word of Faith movement and on reflection of movements like that, is although they are very crafty in getting people to think they are biblical. They make all kinds of claims, with only subjective proof.
I heard about many cases of healing and the like, but I never could find evidence that any of these things actually occurred.
I even attended healing revivals where people in wheel chairs attended, but not one of these people actually was healed.
I even heard some explanations for this such as "lack of faith", etc...And they made one feel guilty if one didn't have this faith, or even questioned this teaching.
Yes they offered evidence such as being slain in the spirit. In which the minister touches the person on the forehead and they fall down. I even had this happen to me, but I don't see any examples of this in Scripture and both hypnotists and a few world religions also do this.

One such supposed healing was where someone came forward that was perfectly healthy, but the minister asked them to sit in a chair and showed everyone that one of the person's legs was shorter than the other, the minister then prayed while at the same time pulling on the shorter leg. He then proclaimed the leg to have been lengthened by God.
This made the whole crowd cheer in praise to God, without even questioning whether the claims of the minister were true or not. Unfortunately at the time even I didn't question this, I was too caught up in the giddiness of the occasion.

I have seen first hand how manipulative the Word of Faith movement is and when one is looking from the inside out, it is hard to understand how anyone could question the practices of the movement. I believe it is no different with many other cults in the world.

I thought I would add one more thing to my last post.
A Christian doctor friend of mine, who was curious to find out if there were any "miracle healings" recorded by in medical science, did a study on the topic and he said that he couldn't find any.

Hello Tom,

Thanks for the response. I agree whole heartedly there are problems with the WOF movement having been one myself. Too bad we live so far apart...otherwise, we could sit and talk over a <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/coffee2.gif" alt="" /> You and Pilgrim need too move down here with me <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
