That makes sense to me, that the Holy Spirit would only usethe true Gospel to affect the transforamtion od sinners into saints. And Godhelp those who atr trusting in any sacrament, church label, good works etc to bethe means by which they claim to be christian now!

AND..... in our day it is particularly popular for one to believe in one's own "faith" (free-will decision to accept Jesus), which makes the salvation formula to be: grace+faith=justification.

Salvation is ALL of GRACE, not of works (Rom 4:16; 11:6).

The Bible states that even that Faith is a gift from God towards His own elect, so that would negate that view!

Unless you are an Arminian or semi-Pelagian. The Arminian would say that God has given "prevenient grace" to ALL without exception which overrides man's total inability and thus allows a sinner to excercise his free-will to either accept or reject Christ. The semi-Pelagian would say that man is not "dead" but terminally ill and still retains a native ability to do good including believing on Christ.

Ask these people why it is they are saved and their neighbor isn't saved? Invariably the answer is, "Because I chose to believe and they haven't yet."

Which would make God a respector of persons, as He would honor those who merited salvation based upon being superior in some ways to others.
