Until a child gives evidence of salvation then we are to treat them as lost: (1) we understand that they are lost (Psa 51:5) for there are “none righteous, no not one” (Rom. 3:10-12), (2) we pray for their conversion for salvation belongeth unto the Lord (Psa 3:8; 53:6; etc.), and (3) continue to explain the cross evangelistically, (Psa. 40:10; Rom. 1:16; 10:9-10), “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12), etc. Even Timothy was not presumed as a seed of the woman but was instructed in the Lord so he may be “wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:15). There is not a need of these things for the saved as they are suppose to mature on from the first principles of Christ, or as some put it, “improve upon their baptism.”
