1) That wouldn't seem to address what John is calling the "sin unto death," for John writes not to pray for those who sin the sin unto death. If unbelief is the sin unto death, then the conclusion would be that we shouldn't pray for unbelievers. You don't think that's the case, do you?

2) John 3:16 doesn't say that Christ died for each & every person who ever lived. Furthermore, if He had, then each & every person who ever lived would, in fact, be saved. If everyone is already forgiven of all their sins, why would unbelief prevent them from being saved?

It is the acknowledgement of what Christ done for us which saves us.
That is why those who don't believe are condemned already:
M'r:16:16: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Jesus has no respect of person, so hHe died for all, we just have to accept what Christ did for us that is the good news of the gospel out of love.

But, if I clearly taught elsewhere that repentance/belief alone was sufficient no one would think coming forward is necessary for salvation,or water baptism is necessary for salvation.
