From a previous post, Brimstone said: why is homosexuality so much greater and filthier a sin than lying or cheating or not keeping my body in good health or failing to show kindness to someone? First, let me preface by saying that I do not believe that lying, stealing, adultery, not showing kindness, etc. are lesser sins. I believe all sins are equally worthy of God's wrath and damnation. However, I do view homosexuality in a different way then I do say not keeping my body in good health. Why is that? I think it's the language the Bible uses pertaining to this sin (Romans 1). It's not pretty. Plus this sin is glorified and promoted in society and in our face with men overtly acting like women and visa versa, the gay parades, the agenda to promote homosexual marriage, it's promotion in public schools, etc., etc. However, when I see someone that is overweight or someone who smokes, etc., it doesn't impact me in the same way. Does my world view need an adjustment? Anyone have any thoughts or comments on this?

Does my world view need an adjustment? If your worldview needs an adjustment, then I have to say that mine does too. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/pout.gif) First of all, although it is true that ALL and ANY sin is deserving of eternal damnation by God, God Himself has distinguished between sins that are committed by mankind which can be easily seen in the punishments required, e.g., in the O.T. for various sins. Sexual sins were considered a capital crime and in many instances the penalty for them was death. Homosexuality is a grievous sin in that it is a total corruption of the very nature of man as God created him; i.e., male and female; created in the "imago dei". And homosexual acts are the total corruption of the profound intimacy intended by God between male and female. But even further, the uniting of a man and woman exemplifies the intimate love that is expressed between God/Christ and His Church, i.e., a marriage relationship; a covenant bond that cannot be surpassed nor is it to be broken. I suspect that those who would like to remove the stigma of such sins as homosexuality, paedophilia, incest, rape, etc. are only deceiving themselves. I cannot wonder if they can honestly say they have no apprehension about walking into a notorious gay bar in comparison to walking into Walmart? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif" alt="" /> Would they have no reservation(s) about allowing a homosexual activist to sleep in the same room with their 8 year old son compared to allowing a Christian brother to do the same? Do they honestly look upon their unbelieving neighbor who has told a lie in the same way as they do a paedophile and consider them to be "equal" as sinners? Sinners they both are. But are they not deserving of individual discernment and judgment by Christians and the Church, especially when it comes to discipline. That's my ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/my2cents.gif) In His grace,
simul iustus et peccator
