His take on Eschatology has changed, and wasn't there some big issue concerning his son in theology?

RC Jr was defrocked for holding to Federal Vision theology - basically a call back to Rome!

Could you please supply reference to any official disciplinary action taken against R.C. Sproul, Jr. on the cause of him holding to Federal Vision which resulted in him being defrocked?

From my recollection, he has never been officially discipled due to an embracing, teaching or preaching Federal Vision. I am certainly open to correction on that if such discipline has been rendered. What I do remember, which I have referenced below, is that Sproul, Jr. along with the entire Session of St. Peter Presbyterian Church were deposed for 7 violations of the B.O.C. (Book of Church Order). Since that time several other incidences by R.C. Sproul, Jr. have occurred, some far worse, which have resulted in disciplinary action.

What is Federal Vision? I thought he was in trouble over golding to God authoring sin/evil? Like Hyper Calvinism?

Federal Vision is a 'refined' version of NPP (New Perspective on Paul).

And federal headship is different from this, correct?

1. Yes, this is a morph of NT Wright's "New Perspective on Paul".

2. Yes and No. It's core views are very similar to NPP but it has it's own peculiarities which at the end of the day amount to a grace+works=justification heresy. The articles I linked to should help answer some/many of your questions.

One of the best books published thus far that goes into depth on this subject is Cornelis Venema's The Gospel of Free Acceptance in Christ.

I thonk it was the RPCGA who defrocked RC Junior, and I think it was due to some teaching he had done sympathetic to FV.

Documentation is probably available but frankly I'm doing 15-hour workdays and can barely hold my eyes open to search it all out until I have a day off.

Concerning Federal Vision, another advocate of that theology Douglas Wilson, apparently fairly recently distanced himself from Federal Vision.
Trying to find out more information about it.

Denying the imputation of the grace of the Cross towards sinners is to deny the very geart pf the Gospel!

Perhaps you are confused on this one? NPP and FV deny the imputation of Christ's active obedience, not the "imputation of grace", which isn't found in the Bible either.

They would deny that God imputes the rightiousness of Christ towards us based upon Him dieing as keeping the Law fully, as asthe covenant keeper or something?
