I've attached the comments of William Hendriksen from his New Testament Commentary on I and II Thessalonians, and specifically verse 5:23. I think you will find it very helpful as he discusses the various views, how they are derived and critiques them all. The attachment is in a ".doc" format (MS Word). However, if anyone is unable to open/read the document and would like to do so, PM me and I'll e-mail you the same article in ".pdf" format, which can be read with Acrobat Reader.
