Generally, Apostasy is a repudiation of the faith (truths concerning the essentials of Christianity) either in doctrine and/or practice. Backsliding is the temporary falling of a Christian into some sin(s), from which God works in that person to bring him/her to genuine repentance with a resolve to obedience and a renewed love and faith in Christ.

Typically, apostasy is rarely if ever repented of due to the very nature of it. [Linked Image]
