Nothing new under the sun. Man has from the beginning fought to find total independence of his Creator... no, to become his own creator. Such is exemplified in these lofty and godless desires to create a 'superhuman' which ignores/denies/destroys the very essence of what it is to be human; to be created in the image of God and possess in a body a soul. No amount of sophistication of technology can create a human soul. And no human can create a 'god' unto himself that is even a fleeting whisp of smoke in comparison to the true living God of the Bible.
All this talk reminds me of the inhabitants of the earth which even after knowing the fury and power of God Who destroyed the earth by a flood, desired to cast off this knowledge and build a tower of brick and slime (Babel) to make a name for themselves (we shall become as God). (cf. Gen 3:22-24;11:4-9; Ps. 10:3-6; Prov. 6:16-18; 19:21; 25-27,28; 26:12; Isa 47:8-17; Ezek 28:2-10; Obadiah 1:4; Luke 12:18-21).
