Robin,

If my memory serves me correctly there was a lot of confusion in some of the mainstream denominations back in the 70's. I believe this was because of a movement called "Neo-Pentecostalism." It's focus was more on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and power which some believed to be lacking in the church. Some people would define Christianity as a two level religion as if you could be "just" a Christian or you could be a "Spirit filled" Christian.

I remember people saying things like... "Have you been baptised in the Holy Spirit yet?" Some called this the "second blessing" as if it was something you needed to ask for after you were saved. I think some also called this the third wave movement. Do you know much about this practice and how it related to the Charismatic movement?
