Try a search of the boards on the subject. I'm sure things have been written here before about it. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/BigThumbUp.gif" alt="" />

Welcome to The Highway as I see this is your 1st post.
I'm thinking the obstacles of a mega church functioning biblically can be compared with the passage, ". . . But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kindgom of God" ". (Mark 10:24-25 NASB)
There are some mega churches doing church well, but they face many more obstacles that unbridled growth brings. Unfortunately, many (or most) mega churches succumb to the compromising due to bigness that their success in numbers brings.

It is pure synergism, through and through. Essentially the philosophy is that: 1) Boundaries are determined by the member's self professed personal relationship with Jesus and a "born-again" EXPERIENCE 2) Uses only the Bible, without creeds and confessions 3) Make up their identity as they go along 4) Emphasizes initiation through intense religious experiences 5) Expects the Spirit to come through the Word unpredictably 6) Stresses the importance of people being "ready to open up their feelings for Him to move them in spontaneous ways"
Flee from this.
Grace is not common.
