Hello everybody,

I have recently come across this sentence: "God has given us methods to do his work: participation, persuasion and prayer." in The New Pragmatism, by James Montgomery Boice. Does anyone know some other work of his where he fleshes this out? Where he gives more details about what this looks like in practice, especially with regard to the first, participation? I don't understand if he means the believers' participation in the local church, or unbelievers' participation in a church service where the Gospel is preached, or some other thing.

Thanks,
Gilda

Gilda,

From just the short quote you have supplied, I would have to assume that he was addressing Christians and therefore the "participation" is referring to believers' doing something, e.g., evangelism, showing kindness to a stranger, speaking for the unborn in a Town Hall meeting, etc., etc.

gildavi,

There are a couple of ways to link to an article, website, etc.,...

1. Consult the FAQ documentation under:
[+] What UBBCode can I use in my posts?

2. Just above the text box, on the Menu bar, click on the second icon from the left (beside the Smiley icon) and type or paste in the address.

IF you need further assistance, post your question(s) in the HELP Forum.
