Quick question for the group, Apostasy and backsliding cannot be one and the same... What is the best answer and link or article to share with one seeking to understand the terms more biblically?

I don't have the "best answer" for you. giggle

Generally, Apostasy is a repudiation of the faith (truths concerning the essentials of Christianity) either in doctrine and/or practice. Backsliding is the temporary falling of a Christian into some sin(s), from which God works in that person to bring him/her to genuine repentance with a resolve to obedience and a renewed love and faith in Christ.

Typically, apostasy is rarely if ever repented of due to the very nature of it. [Linked Image]

Believe that Apostasy is the end state of those who were never really saved, were those who professes, but in the end showed true colors!
Backslidding would be really saved, who were in a time of rebellion or not serving the lord, but they will come back to God, as true Christians will come back inrepentence to the Lord!
