I just had a long discussion with a young lady regarding Christians and being possessed by demons, despite the many passages given to show her error, her subjectivism sprung forth because it happened to her on more than one occasion, could it be that those who make claims of being Christians actually experience being delivered from demons valid, other then themselves as proof?

1. Christians cannot be 'possessed' by demons, which evidently you know based upon many biblical passages.

2. Christians can be 'harassed' (influenced) by demons to sin. But this is NOT to say that demons can make anyone do that which they do not desire to do. For example, a demon cannot force a true Christian to deny Christ. But it can persuade a Christian to commit a sin due to the 'old nature' which still exists.

3. Some of these 'professing' Christians who insist that they have been 'possessed' by demons are:
   a) confusing possession with external influence due to lack of biblical teaching.
   b) have psychological problems and attribute their bizarre behavior to demonic possession.
   c) use demon possession to excuse their own sinful behavior.
   d) are not truly regenerated and thus possibly have been possessed by demons.

The only power demons have is that of deception. They LIE and if a Christian believes the lie and acts on it, it can be said to be demonic. Such stuff is rampant among Charismatics.

We have to take scripture as the infallible source for information on this subject, and there are NO cases of real christians getting possessed. The saved though can dabble in occultic thinfs, or get into things sucg as astrology/fake magic etc, that can allow forSatan to gain a foothold in, and can buffet them, but the good news is that the person can repent of that bad stuff, claim the provosions of Christ, and have victory over the Devil and his ways...
