In the 1700s there was the new side vs old side debates, and in the 1800s there was the new school vs old school debates. What were the core issues with these two debates? We are watching a video study on Jonathan Edwards, and I think he was on the new side. Edwards is revered by conservatives today, but I thought the conservatives were mostly on the older side or school in those debates.
Will someone clarify these debates and what we can gather from them in looking back at them.
